Will my stocking get to me in time for Christmas 2023?
Not likely - Any orders placed After Dec. 4th will likely ship after Christmas. If you order, you will receive an email stating the same.
....
All orders guaranteed to be to you by Christmas must be placed by December 3rd 2023
**** we may mark all products as sold out as of Dec 4, 2023. After that, feel free to email to see if we open orders back up at all this year, or we'll be going through and seeing if we have any non-personalized stock we can list for sale.

Why do you call them handmade or handcrafted vs. handknit?
Our heirloom Christmas stockings are knit on vintage flat bed knitting machines that are no longer made. Most people are unfamiliar with the craft. Think about using a sewing machine as compared to sewing each stitch by hand. Oftentimes a machine sewn piece is better quality than one that is hand sewn, and after many years of handknitting our stockings, we found that the machine knit quality was much higher for an item that needs to hold weight and last for years. All of our designs are custom drawn & the machines are programmed manually then hand-operated row by row, so each row is knit in a pass, kind of like weaving if you’ve ever seen a loom. After the bulk of the pattern knitting is done, the stitches are all picked up on needles and finished and sewn by hand. We’ve been expertly handcrafting our custom stockings for more than 20 years.
How should I care for my Custom Christmas Stockings?

SUGGESTED CARE

-  We suggest wrapping pointy, sharp or oddly shaped items in tissue paper before stuffing your stockings to keep them in the best shape for years to come.

-  Hang on a secure hook or tied securely to a banister.  We suggest stuffing heavier items closer to Christmas, or not hanging them fully stuffed for long periods of time. We hang them on display the whole Christmas season and stuff them Christmas eve!

-  If you should need to wash your stocking, please hand wash (with no agitation) in cool water with mild soap & lay flat to dry completely.

-  To store your stockings from year to year, we suggest carefully folding them, then storing (in a vacuum sealed bag, breathable sweater storage bag or sealed box) in a cool dry place with the provided cedar block or another form of natural moth deterrent.
